How I Remove my Makeup + My Night Time Skin Care Routine!!!
Its been a great day today...the weather is good...I got some really important things done at work...there was no traffic today (wow)....Overall it has been a good day! AND the best part....the weekend is here!
So today, I am writing about my second favourite part of the day - Removing Makeup. The first is obviously dressing up.. ;)
Now I don't like using lot of products...lot of products means lot of chemicals. The idea is to keep things simple and natural specially when it comes to the skin. Therefore, I only use Makeup removers when I am wearing hell lot of makeup. Otherwise, removing makeup is a simple process (you will see...). I believe, your skin must benefit in the overall process and not end up feeling dry or irritated.
I am going to list my Holy Grail makeup remover and some excellent alternatives to makeup removers which not only remove makeup but also pamper the skin at the same time. Lovely, isn't it?
Lets get started...
There are 2 ways on how I remove my makeup. It basically depends on the amount of makeup I am wearing.
1. The Normal Way - This is usually what I do after I come back from work on weekdays. After tying my hair in a bun, I spray some Dabur Gulabari all over my face. Then I use a Johnson & Johnson Baby Wipe to remove the makeup. Baby wipes are a good way to remove makeup. They are just so gentle on the skin that you don't need to worry about breaking out or any irritation.

I use Vaseline to remove my eye liner, mascara and brow product. Now, Vaseline is an amazing product and my holy grail when it comes to removing eye makeup. It is nourishing for the lashes as well as brows. Word of caution - don't use Vaseline on the face as the consistency is quite thick. It can blog pores and create more problems. Next I wash my face with my BioDerma Foaming Gel (you have seen this product in my first blog about Skincare Routine).

If you have dry skin, you can also use Baby Oil to remove makeup. Don't forget to slightly massage your face before washing it off with a mild face wash.

While cleansing, I also use my Braun Facial Cleansing Brush on my forehead, around my nose and chin. It helps in extracting all the dirt that has been sitting on my face and leaves the skin with a soft radiant look. With hundreds of micro-oscillations, it really helps in deep pore cleansing by gently exfoliating and cleansing the skin.

2. The Other Way - This is a tough one as I really have to push myself to wash off all the makeup before I doze off. I won't lie to you, there have been days, when I have slept without washing my face. Waking up with a face full of makeup has always been a nightmare but what to do...sleep is also important!!
Things have changed now (of course sleeping is still important) as I have been doing some time and skin management. :)
So when I step out for parties or get togethers, I make sure I have enough baby wipes in the car. On my way home, I try to remove most of my makeup using baby wipes. By the time I reach home, the only thing left to do a second round of makeup removal.
Thank God (and The Body Shop), for the Camomile Cleansing Oil. That is my another Holy Grail product in makeup removal routine.
The best thing I like about this product is the consistency and the satin feel. I usually use one-two pumps and spread the product all over my face. I am telling you...it is silk soft. After massaging the face for 1-2 minutes, I sprinkle some rose water or just normal water. Once you add rose water / water, the oil turns into a thin, milky emulsion. The formula is so amazing that it gives a satin soft feel to the skin. Again after massaging for 2 minutes, I wash off with my usual cleanser. I use the Braun Facial Cleansing brush as well...at least on my T-Zone.

By the way, the amount of Camomile Oil is minuscule in this product. It does contain some fragrance, but again thats not likely to be problematic. But if you have sensitive skin, you might want to be careful while using the product.

After removing the makeup, its time for the night time skin care routine.
My Night time Skin Care Routine is almost same as the Morning Skincare Routine (please refer my First blog on Morning Skincare Routine) except I add an eye cream to the list.
I am currently using Clinique Smart Custom Repair Eye Cream. It cost me a bomb, so I did a lot of research before investing in the product.

I love...love...love this product from Clinique. It contains a good blend of antioxidant rich plant extracts, barrier repair ingredients and cell communicating peptides. When these ingredients come together, you see a positive impact on the skin as they help in reducing inflammation and repair signs of sun damage. The sales specialist at the Clinique store told me that one of the most important difference in this product and other products is that it helps stimulate healthy collagen production around the eye area. It helps in counteracting the crow's feet, wrinkles and other signs of ageing. Now we all are intelligent enough that these problems don't go away overnight, but over continuous use it does show signs of decreasing.
The final and most awaited step is to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep. For me it is a blessing to get 8 hours of sleep on weekdays!
Do you use any of these products? Let me know!
Next blog is on Facial Mists!! Will be up soon...
Love & Luck,
Kanica!!
