What's in my Bag!

Let me start with telling you how sorry I am for missing out on blogs in the past one month!!! I was really tied up and had absolutely no time for anything...let alone blogging! :( 

So I will make up for the lost time and (try to) write as many blogs as I can in this week.

This blog is about the awesome stuff I carry in my bag, every weekday! It has my Weekday essentials that I just can't do without.

I am a huge Sunscreen fan - For me, it is more of a necessity rather than a luxury. After I have cleansed, toned and moisturised my skin, I apply a heavy dose of Sunscreen. Currently my favourite is this Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Sunscreen in SPF 40. It is a 3-in-1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock. The best thing is that it is a Tinted Sunscreen with sheer coverage. I apply two layers of this sunscreen for protection as well as coverage. So after using it , all I really need is a Concealer for my dark circles. 

My rating - 4 / 5 - Minus 1 for coverage. I wish it had more coverage!

The concealer I have been using is from LA Girl Cosmetics. I ordered it online from www.nykaa.com and I can't be any less excited to use it every day. The consistency and the texture is amazing. 

By the way...DUPE ALERT - LA  Girl Cosmetics Concealer is a dupe of Mac Select cover up. It does an amazing job covering my dark circles.

My Rating - 4.5 / 5 - Minus 0.5 for the packaging. Sometimes you squeeze out more product than needed.

On the go, my next job is to apply Lipstick and cheek stain. I am currently using this Ultimate Pro Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Read my Lips from FacesIndia. It is a very new brand for  me and I am already impressed by their color collection. It doesn't dry on the lips and also doesn't transfer much on the glass! 

My Rating - 5/5...love...love...love this lipstick. For a drugstore Matte lipstick, it glides on the lips so smoothly.

For cheeks, I have been using the Lip & Cheek Stain from The Body Shop. Love this product....It melts in the skin so smoothly and gives a subtle glow from within.

My Rating - 5/5 

On days when I feel like my skin is dull and needs some brightening, I go for my Highlight stick from LA Girl Cosmetics. I use the one in Luminous on the high points of my cheeks and blend it in with my fingers.

My Rating - 5/5. I love this product....it blends so smoothly and leaves a subtle glow.

On the eyes - Normally, I go for a natural eye brow look by just filling in the sparse areas of my brows. I am still using the Maybelline Duo Brow Shaper.

My Rating - 3.5 / 5- Minus 1.5 for the texture. You really need time to fill in the brows. I prefer using the Benefit Instant Brow Eyebrow Pencil instead. It has the smoothest texture.

Next I line my eyes with Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Brown, followed by Mascara - again from Lakme Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara.

My Rating for the Eye Liner - 3 / 5 - Minus 2 because the product is hard to blend. It also starts smudging after 2-3 hours of application.

My Rating for the Mascara - 3 / 5 - Minus 2 as the product does nothing Dramatic...however, it does elongate and curl my lashes but thats it. If not applied properly and with patience, it does clump my lashes. Also it is not waterproof!

Last but not the least - I set everything using my Avene Thermal Spring Water.

My Rating - 5 / 5....I would give it a 10/5 because it is a miracle product for me. Works wonders for the dry skin - it soothes and calms the skin...I use it as a toner as well as a makeup setting spray. 

Other essentials in my bag - 

1. Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation Compact - This is a repurchase. I have been using it since ages. I use it when I have to go out in the evening with friends and need to put on some makeup. This acts as my base. 

My Rating - 5/5....This is my Holy Grail Compact. 

2, Sanitizer - To be frank, any Sanitizer will do for me as long as it sanitizes well. I got this Up & Up Sanitizer from Target. It has a mild fragrance.

3. The Body Shop Body Butter in Olive - I really love the product as it works wonders on my dry hands. The thing that bothers me a bit is  the packaging. 

My Ratings - 4 / 5 - Minus 1 just for the packaging. 

4. Burberry Sunglasses - These have to be my favourite as my husband gifted them!!!

5. Victoria Secret Fragrance Mist - Firstly, I love how nicely and conveniently they fit in my bag. That's my deal with the perfumes and fragrance mists. They have to be light and portable. 

Secondly, they are long lasting. I don't like to use expensive perfume during day time specially when I know I have to step out in the heat. These mists come as a saviour because of their superb quality fragrance and long lasting qualities. It stays on for as long as 6 hours for me in AC and upto 4-5 hours when I am out in the sun. For a mist this cheap, it is an excellent quality. 

My ratings - 5 / 5...for all the above mentioned reasons.
